January and February had gone surprisingly well and I was starting to feel quite confident that I would continue to make a decent income throughout the year… And then the Coronavirus hit.
As we all know, this is an unknown quantity. Whether it means an increase or a decrease in earning at home opportunities remains to be seen. But surveys seem to keep rolling in, so we’ll have to see.
Below is a breakdown of all money made for March (figures in brackets are my earnings for the year).
As usual, the bulk of my income has come from survey sites. Prolific has been the biggest earner, with IntelliZoom coming in 2nd.
I made a conscious effort of moving away from Swagbucks to see if I could make more from Qmee. I’m also testing a couple of new sites, although haven’t earned from them yet.
IntelliZoom £98.01 (£314.84)
PanelBase £10.80 (£66.40)
Prolific £138.05 (£334.54)
Streetbees £12 (£78.50)
Swagbucks £35 (£120) (Amazon voucher)
Testable Minds £11.72 (£15.82)
Qmee £49.80 (£89.55)
OnePulse £15.48 (£41)
Branded Surveys £14.60 (£37.40)
Curious Cat £13.04 (£42.98)
AttaPoll £9.86 (£20.75)
YouGov (app) £2.25 (£55.15)
Focus groups (£74.50)
Action Insiders – £12
GFK – £15
Total: £457.11 (£1491.42)
There are various apps that reward you with money or vouchers when you scan your receipts. As I have gone into isolation, I will start to earn less from these as I am spending less. Take a look at the best receipt scanning apps.
Shopprize £5 (Amazon voucher) (£15)
ZipZero £11.66 (£53.64)
SnapMyEats £10 (Amazon voucher) (£15)
Huyu £5 (£10)
Total £51.66 (£123.64)
Last month, I earned £40 cashback from Santander for switching my broadband to NowTV. This month, I earned another £90 from that deal, which was paid into my TopCashback account. You can take a look at how I managed to get 5 months of broadband for free. Apart from that, I have done very little shopping again (probably a good thing).
Take a look at the best cashback sites.
Santander £1.42 (£42.59)
TopCashback £6.86 (£101.06)
Airtime Rewards £9.20 (£12.28)
Curve Card £0.81 (£9.47)
Total: £18.29 (183.43)
MONEY FROM THE BANK
There are several bank accounts that pay you for having an account or give you cashback for certain bills. See my post on how to be paid by your bank.
Santander £1.32 (includes £1 fee) (£6.46)
Halifax £2 (£6)
Barclays £6.50 (includes £4 fee) (£19.50)
Total: £14.82 (£36.96)
This month I have been trying out a few product testing sites, which has earned me the following:
1 x smartphone £35.99
Multivitamin tablets – £17.99
I have also earned from:
20 Cogs £10.41
SerpClix (internet search) £5.09
Octopus (from a friend joining using my referral link) £50
Total: £118.49 (208.48)
Please note, I have not included any income from matched betting in this report as not everybody is comfortable with taking part.
