I do love a takeaway pizza. But one thing that annoys me is when people say they taste the same as the ones from the supermarket. No, they don’t! Although I do think my dad used to use that as an excuse to save money.

The problem is with all major pizza chains is that they charge too much. Yes, they have plenty of overheads, but there is no way a pizza is worth £20. And they know it, and that’s why you can always find plenty of discounts around.

Is there a Pizza Hut NHS discount?

Surprisingly, Pizza Hut doesn’t actually offer a direct discount to NHS employees. Unlike Domino’s, which will offer 50% off pizzas when you show just your NHS ID, Pizza Hut requires you to have a Blue Light Card instead. But honestly, this is a card that all NHS workers should have anyway. I have a list of all the best discounts if you need to find out more.

How much is the Pizza Hut discount?

According to the Pizza Hut website, NHS staff get 25% off when they request a code from Blue Light Card. This is available Sunday to Thursday after 3 pm.

In all honesty, that’s a little underwhelming when you consider Domino’s discount.

But it’s not all bad news. I have seen the Blue Light Card discount to be as much as 50%.

How to get your discount

Just visit the Blue Light Card website or the app. Search for Pizza Hut and you then need to request a code. This will then be sent to your email address.

When you visit the Pizza Hut website, add the food of your choice and click Add Voucher Code. Then, just cut and paste the code that was sent to you.

To receive your discount, you need to spend a minimum of £30. The terms also state that it is for delivery only.

Other Pizza Hut discounts

If you don’t fancy delivery, you can get 50% off a £30 spend on pizza if you collect through the tastecard. You can also get 2-for-1 on starters, mains and desserts if you choose to dine in.

The tastecard costs £4.99 per month but comes with a free 90-day trial to test it out.

Pizza Hut is also listed on cashback sites, which means you can earn some money back if you order through them. However, they generally don’t pay out if you use a voucher code they don’t list.

Meerkat Meals also offers up to 50% off for members. And you can take out a membership for just over £1.

Cashback debit card

It’s worth checking out the Chase account if you’re a keen shopper. This gives you 1% back every time you use it, up to £15 per month. It might seem like a small amount, but it soon stacks up over a year.

Receipt scanning

Another decent way to make a little extra back on your food is by scanning your receipts. Just download the app, take a photo and upload it. You’ll then be rewarded with cash or vouchers of your choice.
