How does earning money from searching the internet sound? Take a look at this SerpClix review to see what it’s all about and how much you can expect to earn.
I have been promised money from searching the web before and have always ended up quite disappointed. Swagbucks pays around 6 bucks for a search. That’s worth under 1 penny and you’ll probably need at least 20 searches to earn anything. Qmee is slightly better, paying around 9 pence for 2 searches every few days. However, these are primarily survey sites, so I can forgive them.
SerpClix is a site dedicated to paying you just for searching the web. But it’s not for any old searches…
Who is SerpClix?
I did contact them through their web form to ask if they owned SerpClix, but they never replied to me.
How does SerpClix work?
First of all, you will need to download the SerpClix extension to your browser – either Firefox or Microsoft Edge. It will not work for Google Chrome. Once done, the extension will tell you when jobs are available. Jobs are simply words you will need to search Google for.
Jobs will appear in a menu, which you click and then type into Google. Then, you just need to scroll through the results and find the website highlighted in red. Select it, visit the page for a certain time and earn money. Simple.
Depending on the site you visit, you will be paid either $0.05 or $0.10.
Why do they pay?
It’s the manipulation of something called Search Engine Optimisation (aka SEO). SEO is the method that search engines use to tell how useful a site is and how high to rank it when people search for a certain term.
So, if you search for a word, click on a website and read it for a couple of minutes, Google will think it’s a good site and rank it higher. And because Google is the most used search engine, companies are willing to pay big bucks so they can appear at the top of their list.
This probably explains why the extension isn’t available on the Google browser. Google would know instantly which terms are being manipulated and punish the companies accordingly. Instead of going to the top of the rankings, they would sink out of trace.
Is SerpClix safe?
Generally, the main risk of using SerpClix is to the companies paying them. As a SerpClix user, there’s little Google would do for you clicking on links.
However, the 1st ever link I clicked on (below), my anti-virus programme threw up a warning and told me not to continue.
That was quite a worry, but fortunately, I have up-to-date virus protection. And since then, I have clicked on 100’s of links without an issue. You really need to make sure that you have anti-virus software on your computer. It could be a very cheap way for a company to get you to click on dodgy links.
As always, with anything that involves installing an extension on to your machine, I can’t guarantee what SerpClix does with all your information. But with that said, after the Facebook leaks over the last couple of years, can you trust anybody?
This is a simple way to make a bit of extra money. If you spend a lot of free time on your computer, it will take you just a few seconds to check and search for words.
First of all, installing the extension on to Firefox is a pain. Because it isn’t an official Firefox extension, you need to play about with it first before installation. In the end, I installed on to Microsoft Edge, which was far easier.
Some of the jobs need you to do a map search. No matter how many times I try these, I can never complete them.
Some of the words, you can never find. I have trawled through 30+ pages before and not found the search term. That can be very frustrating.
Sometimes, you will need to click on the ‘include omitted results’ after you’ve cycled through all the pages.
How much can you earn with SerpClix?
This is very difficult to quantify. You can see 10 jobs in the space of a few minutes and then see nothing for a day. Plus, some jobs are quick to complete, whilst others take more time as you have to trawl through Google. Expected pay is around £4.50 per hour. In my 1st 2 weeks of searching, I earned $6.75.
Your earnings are paid into your PayPal account during the 1st week of the month as long as you have over $5.
My SerpClix review conclusion
Another site that won’t make you rich. In fact, the pay is pretty underwhelming. But, if you spend a lot of time at home on your computer, it might be worth having this run in the background. But I would be surprised if you can make much more than $20 per month.
Alternatively, if my SerpClix review hasn’t convinced you, why not take a look at other ways to make money on the side.
