It might sound too good to be true, but what if I told you that you could be paid to search the internet? Well, that’s exactly what ClicksPaid offers. But how does it work and is it worth the effort? Let’s take a look at how I got on.

Search engines are big business. If a company can appear at the top of Google’s search results, it could make a small fortune. That’s why businesses are willing to pay users to search for certain terms and phrases. And the latest company to offer this service is ClicksPaid.
What is ClicksPaid?
ClicksPaid is a service that connects companies with members of the public. Companies will pay ClicksPaid cash in exchange for clicks on certain links in Google. When a user selects one of these links, ClicksPaid will send payment to a user.
Is it safe?
This is a tough one, as it’s a site that sets off a couple of alarm bells. There’s very little information about the company and the site doesn’t even have a privacy policy. There is a physical address listed, but checking on Google Maps, it’s a small building next to a cafe in Barcelona. So, it’s not exactly Silicone Valley.
You’ll also need to be willing to download a plugin to your Firefox browser, so ClicksPaid can monitor that you’re clicking on the right links.
However, I’ve used ClicksPaid for a few months and always received my payment. So, despite the above, I’m happy to keep using it. For now.
Why would a company pay for clicks?
The question is, why pay somebody just to click on links?
Well, Google uses clever algorithms to determine what to rank at the top of its search results. It takes into consideration lots of different factors, but an important one is if a page stands out to Google searchers.
For example, if there were two results in the search, ranked one and two, and everyone clicked on the second result, Google would soon make this the number one answer. And becoming the top answer on Google will often mean big money.
Companies will pay ClicksPaid for this service, with ClicksPaid passing on a percentage of this money to their clickers.
How does it work?
You’ll need to create an account, which is little more than entering and confirming an email address. Then, it’s a case of installing the ClicksPaid app onto your browser, which is fairly straightforward. At the moment, it’s only compatible with the Firefox browser. This suited me as I don’t use Firefox, meaning that ClicksPaid would have minimal access to any of my information.
Then, you head to your dashboard and select the “Get a new task” button.

If there’s work available, you’ll be taken to the Google search page. The search phrase will automatically be copied onto your clipboard, so you just need to paste it and click search. Then, you scroll until you find the right internet page. Once you click on it, a countdown timer will appear in the Firefox extension icon. When that timer finishes, you’ll have earned your money. ClicksPaid says that it would like you to look around the site you’ve clicked on, but I’ve never found that necessary.
As a word of warning… the result you’re looking for in Google should be highlighted in red.

However, that’s not always the case. Sometimes, you’ll just have to manually scan through the listings. You will get a hint of what you’re looking for though. For example, ClicksPaid may tell you that the site is market*****s.com, so it’s pretty easy to find.
There is a ClicksPaid forum, which you can visit through the dashboard, where you can discuss any thoughts or issues you have with the platform. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be visited by ClicksPaid staff. At least they don’t comment on it.
How much can you earn?
The majority of searches will earn you $0.05 per click. However, at times, this doubles for a week or so. I generally find that I’ll have between 10 and 20 searches per day. How many you receive may depend on the country you live.
As you can see from below, I’m earning around $1 per day.

How are you paid?
At the moment, you can only receive payment through Bitcoin, Binance or Visa/Mastercard, with a minimum payout of $5. You can opt for PayPal, but the minimum is much steeper at $20.
Payment is made to your chosen method automatically the following month you meet the threshold. So, say if you’ve chosen Bitcoin and you reach $5 in May, you’ll be paid in the first few days of June.
If you have no idea how to receive cryptocurrency (like I did), it’s actually quite easy. You can open a free account with a company like Coinbase, which will give you a digital wallet where you can transfer your earnings. From there, you can convert your Bitcoin into cash and transfer it to your bank.
I actually leave mine as Bitcoin as I hope one day, it will be worth thousands more. But that ship has probably sailed.
Now available on Android
ClicksPaid is now available to use on Android mobile devices. You will need to install Firefox Nightly and add the ClicksPaid extension. You can then earn the same as you would on the desktop version.
Unfortunately, I don’t own an Android mobile, so I can’t review the service.
ClicksPaid referral scheme
If you like ClicksPaid, you can recommend it to your friends. And if they join using your personal link (found in your dashboard), you’ll earn 10% of everything they do.
What other people say
The reviews over on Trustpilot aren’t very complimentary and the website receives a rather poor 2.2 out of 5. Most reviewers complain their accounts were terminated without any warning.
My ClicksPaid review conclusion
Every ounce of me screams stay away. It’s very sketchy who’s behind the company and it seems quite a few people have had their accounts closed for no reason… or so they claim. You can break ClicksPaid terms, such as opening multiple accounts or constantly clicking on the wrong links, so this could have been the reason.
But I can only comment on what I’ve experienced and I’ve been quite happy with how I’m earning. It’s certainly not big bucks, but $300+ per year from clicking on links will do me. Plus, I get to tell people that I invest in cryptocurrency.
If you decide to join, I recommend you never let a big balance build up, just in case you lose your account.
Alternatives to ClicksPaid
There is another site which works in a similar way to ClicksPaid called Serpclix. Clicks are paid at the same rate, although there isn’t quite so much work.
Or, you can check out my other ways to get paid when searching the web.
