PPOC.club review: A legit testing site?

Are you interested in testing products and being paid? Take a look at this PPOC.club review to see what it’s really about and if it is too good to be true.

PPOC.club

Over the last few years, I have tried various ways to make extra money and take on new side hustles in an attempt to save up enough money so I can retire before death. Some have been far more successful and enjoyable compared to others.

One of my favourite ways to make money is to be paid for testing products. There are several survey sites (such as iSay) that give you the opportunity to do this. The only problem is there aren’t too many products to test.

And then, I saw an advert on Facebook for beta.PPOC.club, a company that pays you to test products. Usually, I give these things a wide berth. I find that paid adverts on Facebook are always something to be a little wary of and this sounded a little too good to be true. However, as it was a possible money-making scheme, I decided to give it a go.

What is PPOC.club?

PPOC stands for Product Proof of Concept. The general idea is to test and give your opinion on products. You’ll receive either a cash reward or a free product.

Is PPOC.club legit?

The company is based in Houston, Texas and started in 2017. I used them for a couple of months and always received my products and payment without an issue.

Signing up to PPOC.club

This was my first hurdle, which I failed. I answered a few (what I thought) simple questions, only to be told that I wasn’t suitable. It turns out that PPOC.club is actually looking for people to test products that they wouldn’t usually buy. When I figured that out, I tried a 2nd time and managed to be accepted.

My first job

Straight away, I had a task waiting for me in my account. I was asked to visit Amazon, type in a certain phrase and find a specific product. I then needed to provide PPOC.club the specific code of that product to prove I had found it.

Next, I needed to find rival products and choose two of my favourites. I needed to briefly explain what I liked about these products and why I would choose them.

Then, I needed to buy the product. Obviously, I was a little sceptical about parting with my money. But then I thought, what’s the worst that can happen? I can send the item back to Amazon if I don’t receive my refund.

Within two days, I received my product and my refund!

What was the product? I have to be a little vague as mystery shopping companies don’t like you to reveal specifics, but the item was used for skiing and cost over £30.

Now, I have been skiing once and that was over 25 years ago. I have no idea what is good or bad.

My 2nd product was a feminine hygiene item. Looking through these products made me feel like a skiing expert!

Still, the process was the same and took just a few minutes. My refund was received in under a day.

These jobs usually take between 10 and 15 minutes.

The test

So… this is what it’s all about. The testing of the product.

Except it isn’t. Not once was I asked for my thoughts about the product after I had received it. There is an option to provide feedback. However, you can only do this once you have completed a course. But this course has never been available to me so I couldn’t complete the feedback.

But ‘product tests’ aren’t the only way to make money through PPOC.club

Gigs

These involve you searching for a product on Amazon. You will need to search using a certain term and when you find the product, you add it to your basket and take a photo. You don’t have to buy the product. Gigs usually only take a few minutes as long as you can find the product.

Votes

Here, you get to choose between two designs and you choose which one you think is best. This takes a minute at the most.

Brand Ambassador

Although this is an option, I have never had the chance to complete a Brand Ambassador task, so I can’t comment.

The money

For product tests, you are usually paid £2 for each purchase. That might not sound great, but you also need to consider you get to keep the product. PPOC.club isn’t keen on you selling your items on after you’ve received them. But then how would they know?

Gigs pay 50 pence and can lead to product tests. Votes pay 20 pence.

The pay per hour, excluding the product, probably totalling around £8. This will go up considerably if you can sell the products on after use (feminine hygiene products excluded).

You can be paid either by PayPal or bank transfer. When you withdraw the money you have earned, withdrawals over £25 are free, otherwise, you are charged 50 pence. Refunds for products bought are never charged.

In my 1st month as a member, I earned £21 and received over £70 worth of products.

My PPOC.club review conclusion

This is a bit of an odd site. It’s a decent money maker, but it doesn’t seem as if companies are actually bothered about what you think.

My gut feeling is that you are pushing products up the search rankings on Amazon. So, you’re not acting as a paid product tester but more of a promoter. But I can’t blame companies for trying to improve their standing at Amazon. Especially when you consider 86% of us in the UK shop there.

It’s not something I would feel comfortable continuing to do, but I felt I had to try the site.

Be warned

Amazon isn’t keen on users being paid to test products and leaving reviews. However, they’re far more likely to punish sellers rather than buyers.

If you fancy trying it out, click on the button below. However, it does seem that they only take on new members at certain times.

Hello, I've been using PPOC for a couple of years now. I haven't been able to do classes or the brand ambassador either but I have received a Some pretty good products to test. Everything from supplements to pillows and soft sided cooler. I'm trying a vegetable spiralizer that I just received too. When I do market research jobs for them I usually give feedback on products at that time. I've never has any issues with receiving payment for my purchases and I always receive the product within one or two days. I had issues at one time (i never received product) and they worked with me. I think they are pretty legit and I like testing their products. I will continue using them for now. I did read before that the more active you are the better products you can test. I got really sick last year and stopped for awhile so I'm having to restart again working my way back to better products. Thanks 😊

Thank you for your review. I have just completed my first Amazon product purchase. So far my experience is the same as yours. I plan to continue using this site.
