Userlytics Review: How Much Can You Earn Testing Websites?
If you want to earn extra money from home and you’re reasonably comfortable with technology, getting paid to test websites can be a solid side hustle. I’ve been using Userlytics for quite a while now, and while it’s never been a huge earner for me, the amount of work available has noticeably improved over the last year.

Userlytics review
The rate of pay is quite generous as a side income. The number of jobs you receive has improved significantly over the years. While payments aren’t instant, it remains one of the more reliable and enjoyable user testing platforms available.

Pros
- You can earn a decent amount per hour
- No minimum cashout — paid per task
- Tests can actually be quite enjoyable
Cons
- Often screened out at the start
- Payments can take a few days to process
Userlytics
Userlytics is a user experience (UX) testing platform used by businesses to test websites, apps, prototypes, and digital products. Companies want real people to talk through how something works, what’s confusing, and what could be improved.
As a tester, you’re paid for sharing your thoughts out loud while completing simple tasks. No technical skills required.
What is Userlytics?
Userlytics is a user experience (UX) testing platform that allows businesses and organisations to conduct usability tests on websites, apps, prototypes, and other digital products. The platform is designed to gather feedback from real users to help improve the design, functionality, and overall user experience of digital products.
In return, users (or testers) are paid for their time.
Is it safe?
Yes. Userlytics has been operating since 2009 and has offices in several countries, including the UK. I’ve personally never had a payment issue, and it pays directly to PayPal once a test is approved.
It’s not one of those “too good to be true” sites — just a fairly straightforward testing platform.

How does Userlytics work?
After signing up, you’ll fill in a short profile covering things like your background, devices you own, and general demographics. This helps match you to suitable studies.
When a test becomes available, you’ll see it on your dashboard and usually get an email alert. You need to be quick — places fill fast and tests are first come, first served.
Most studies include a short screener. If you qualify, you’ll see how long the test should take, how much it pays, and which device you need. Complete the test, follow the instructions properly, and once it’s approved, the money lands in your PayPal account.

What kinds of tests are there?
Tests are straightforward. You might be asked to:
- Talk through how easy a website is to use
- Compare two designs
- Find specific information on a page
- Give your opinion on layouts, menus, or wording
Most are advertised as 15-minute tests, but many take less. I’ve had several that finished in under five minutes.
Some tests ask you to record your screen or turn on your webcam so researchers can see your reactions. These are always optional, and you’ll be told upfront.
Any downsides?
Yes, a few.
The biggest issue I have with this site is the lack of work. I tend to get half a dozen or so invites every week. From those, I am usually screened out of at least half, if not more. So this really isn’t a big earner.
As I just mentioned, the screener questions can be quite frustrating. I would prefer Userlytics to increase the number of profile questionnaires so I’m sent more relevant surveys. I hate dropping everything I’m doing when I get an email invite, only for me to be screened out early on.
Then, there are the payments. Because you are paid in Euros, you lose out a little because PayPal doesn’t give the best exchange rates. And payments can be quite slow. They are made every 15 days and only after the work has been approved. So, if it takes a couple of weeks for the researcher to give your work the OK, you could be looking at a month.
Finally, I find the app a bit buggy. It’s not a major issue, but not all of the menus work correctly.

How much does Userlytics pay?
The standard rate of pay is €3 for 15 minutes, which works out at €12 per hour. However, Userlytics states that these studies take a maximum of 15 minutes. In my experience, they often take far less to complete. In some cases, just a couple of minutes. So I estimate that the rate of pay is probably in excess of €20 per hour.
There are longer studies that pay around €40 per hour but they are rare. For me, at least.
What other people say
I always like to check reviews on Trustpilot to see what other users think. There aren’t a great number of reviews there, but Userlytics received a ‘great’ rating. On the positive side, users say that the site is easy to use and pays well. However, some reviewers have complained about the lack of studies or issues with their work being rejected.
My Userlytics review conclusion
Userlytics has improved. There’s no getting away from that.
It’s still not something I’d rely on for a steady income, but compared to previous years, there’s now enough work to justify having it in your rotation of money-making sites. The pay per task is good, tests are usually painless, and if you’re quick, you can earn small but decent amounts with minimal effort.
Just go in with realistic expectations. This is pocket-money territory — not a replacement for a job.
