Maru Voice UK Review: Is It Legit or a Waste of Time?
With so many survey sites online promising easy money, it’s hard to know which ones are genuine and which ones simply aren’t worth the effort. Today, I’m taking a proper look at Maru Voice UK to see how it works, whether it’s legit, and how much you can realistically expect to earn.

Unfortunately, a bit of a disappointment. There are certainly worse survey sites out there, but the surveys don’t pay enough to justify the time. With no alternative ways to earn, it’s not a site I can recommend.

The problem is that plenty of survey sites pay pennies for long, dull questionnaires. Spend an hour clicking boxes and you’ll sometimes earn less than £2. That’s why being selective matters.
So where does Maru Voice UK land?

Maru Voice describes itself as a research community where members share opinions to help influence brands, products, and services. In return, you earn points that can be exchanged for gift cards.
Is Maru Voice UK legit?
Yes, Maru Voice UK is legitimate. It operates in both the UK and Canada and is run by Maru/Blue, a data and research company that’s been around since 2000. I’ve personally received rewards without any issues, so there are no concerns around payments or scams here.
Legit does not automatically mean good value, though.
How does Maru Voice work?
You start by creating an account and completing a fairly detailed profile. This takes a bit of time but helps reduce survey screen-outs later on. In fairness, this part works well.
Once set up, surveys appear on your dashboard or are sent by email. I always recommend email notifications, as surveys are limited and fill up quickly.
Each survey shows an estimated length and points value. Complete it, get the points, and cash them out once you hit the threshold.
Maru Voice also offers “partner surveys” which pay a flat 25 points. The catch is that you’re not told how long these take before starting. That’s a red flag in my book.
Completed surveys also enter you into prize draws with rewards ranging from £50 to £500. Some surveys only give you a prize draw entry with no points at all, which I personally skip every time.
There are also mini-polls on the dashboard that reward you with… nothing. I’m not sure why they exist.
One positive: Maru Voice has music-rating surveys where you listen to short song clips and give feedback for radio playlists. They’re quite enjoyable and remind me of similar surveys on Branded Surveys.
Another plus is that I’m very rarely screened out, which is a genuine advantage compared to many other platforms.
Any downsides?
Plenty.
The biggest issue is the lack of surveys. While there are more than YouGov or Y Live, both of those pay significantly better, making Maru Voice hard to justify.
Prize-draw-only surveys are poor value. I don’t work in the hope of winning my wages, so I don’t answer surveys on that basis either.
Partner surveys are even worse. Being paid 25 points for a survey that could take up to an hour is dreadful, especially when you’re not warned upfront. I always advise avoiding partner surveys entirely.
How much can you earn with Maru Voice?
On average, I’ve found surveys pay around 75 points for 15 minutes.
You need 1,000 points for a £10 gift card.
That works out at roughly 13 surveys of 15 minutes each, or just over three hours of work, to cash out.
That puts your earnings at around £3 per hour, which is extremely poor compared to better-paying UK survey sites.

Maru Voice doesn’t have many reviews online. On Trustpilot, it scores around 2.9 out of 5, based on a relatively small number of ratings. That broadly matches my own experience: legitimate, but underwhelming.
My Maru Voice UK review verdict
Maru Voice UK is genuine, but that’s about where the positives end. Earnings of around £3 an hour simply aren’t competitive, especially when there are far better-paying survey sites available in the UK.
If you’re already signed up, there’s no harm in using it occasionally. But if you’re choosing where to spend your time, I’d skip Maru Voice entirely and focus on sites that actually respect your time.

In February 2025 I achieved enough points to apply for a £10 Amazon voucher. I applied and a few days later I was e-mailed that the voucher had been sent. It never arrived. I contacted support several times and they said it would be resent. It never came and eventually they stopped replying to my messages. Draw your own conclusions
