If you’re looking to make a bit of extra money, then what better way than doing it from your phone? Take a look at this Field Agent UK review to see what’s involved and how much you can expect to earn.
10-second Field Agent review
A decent idea for earning extra money, but it really depends on your location on whether you will actually find many jobs.
Are you looking to make a bit of extra money in your free time? Well, there’s an app for that.
There are plenty of money-making opportunities out there, but it is often difficult to find out those that are worthwhile, those that take far too much effort, and those that are just scams.
In my never-ending search for new ways to make money so that I could finally leave my day job, I have downloaded and reviewed several money-making apps. Some have been far better than others, but I had heard good things about Field Agent. So I decided to sign up and see if I could start planning my early retirement.
Now, I’m quite experienced when it comes to mystery shopping (you can see my post on how to become a mystery shopper), so I had high expectations of this app.
What is Field Agent UK?
Field Agent is primarily a mystery shopping app. If a company wants to know how they’re performing, they’ll ask Field Agent to send members of the public out to test their services. And for completing these tasks, Field Agent will pay you a fee.
Is Field Agent safe?
The Field Agent app belongs to a company called Field Agent UK Limited. This is a company based in London and was incorporated in May 2017. They operate in countries across the globe and after 2 years as a customer, I have never had any issues with the app.
How does Field Agent work?
Signing-up is a simple process. You provide your name, date of birth, gender and email address. You also need to provide your postcode, so they can match you with jobs in your local area. There are a few more questions such as whether you drink, smoke, have pets, etc. You then have to complete a simple Agent Training survey and you then wait for the jobs to roll in.
Jobs generally involve you completing one or more of the following
- An audit of the store you’re visiting
- Taking photos – including in and outside of the store
- Trying food and drink
- Checking prices
There are some unpaid tasks available. These usually involve just answering a few short questions and for your time, you’ll be entered into a prize draw. Your answers may also mean you are eligible for some future mystery shopping tasks too.
Is it just mystery shopping?
Essentially, yes. However, most mystery shopping sites require you to pass tests before you can take jobs. You also need to read through large amounts of information before a job commences and sometimes complete long reports when one finishes. Field Agent UK is a much more condensed and simpler process.
Are there many jobs available?
Unfortunately, not in my area. I waited for a couple of weeks and nothing appeared. The only message I received gave me the opportunity to complete a survey for a chance to win £100, but that was all. I do live in a smallish town though, so it wasn’t totally unexpected. If you live in a major town or city, you should see plenty of jobs available.
Edited May 2020 – On the off-chance, I decided to check the Field Agent app to see what was on offer. Surprisingly, there were a few jobs available, which involved looking at stores were dealing with the Coronavirus. However, I wasn’t willing to try them out.
How much can you earn with Field Agent UK?
The jobs that I saw available paid £5 and seemed fairly simple to complete and should be done within 20 minutes. That means the pay is equivalent to £15 per hour.
How are you paid?
When you have money in your Field Agent account, you can either withdraw using PayPal or have the funds sent directly to your bank account.
Field Agent referral scheme
One useful feature that many money making apps have is the ability to refer friends using a unique link. By doing this, you’ll earn a small incentive. In the case of Field Agent, your referral code will earn you 10% of what your friend earns, up to £10.
My Field Agent UK review conclusion
So, is Field Agent UK worth it? Unfortunately, the app hasn’t been particularly successful for me (perhaps even a failure). I’m still waiting for a chance to earn money, so I can’t even assess a Field Agent cash out. However, I know of people from larger towns and cities that make a decent amount of money from it. My advice would be to sign up and see what’s available. The chances are though if you don’t receive anything in the first few weeks, you’re unlikely to receive anything at all.
