Is Zapper Still Trading in 2026? I Tried to Get a Gift Card Valuation…

I stumbled back onto Zapper recently while checking resale values for a few gift cards.

Normally I’ll run them through a few buy-back sites to see who’s paying the most. As part of that, I tried Zapper — and hit this message:

“Due to courier issues we are temporarily not accepting new trades.”

That stopped me in my tracks.

Zapper used to be one of the better-known UK sites for selling unwanted gift cards and gadgets. So if it’s paused, plenty of people are going to be wondering what’s going on.

If you just want the best place to sell a gift card right now, I’ve broken down the sites that are paying here:

But first — is Zapper still actually trading?

Current Zapper status (2026)

Right now:

  • The website is still live
  • Accounts still exist
  • But new trades aren’t being accepted
  • The “courier issues” message has been there for months

That’s not what an active buy-back site normally looks like.

If a platform isn’t taking stock, it’s effectively paused.

There’s been no public announcement of closure — but also no clear sign of normal service resuming.

Very little recent activity

Another thing that stood out while looking into this:

  • Only a handful of reviews since mid-2024
  • Very few recent payout reports
  • Hardly any discussion online

For a service that used to get regular mentions in money-saving forums and comparison posts, that drop-off is noticeable.

Not necessarily dead.
But definitely quieter.

What the company accounts show

I checked the latest filed accounts for Zapper Limited (year ending June 2024).

They show:

  • The company is still registered
  • Net assets of roughly £470k
  • Its main asset is an investment property
  • Loans are secured against that property
  • A small loss was reported for the year

So on paper, the company hasn’t disappeared or gone insolvent.

But accounts only tell you the legal entity still exists — not whether a consumer-facing service is actively operating. Plenty of companies remain registered while specific websites or services pause.

Right now, the bigger signal is that Zapper isn’t accepting new trades and recent activity looks minimal.

So… is Zapper still trading?

Technically: yes, the company still exists.
Functionally: unclear.

If you try to sell something today, you can’t.

That puts Zapper in a bit of limbo:

  • Not closed
  • Not operating normally
  • Not widely used right now

Until trades reopen and reviews pick up again, it’s safest to treat it as paused rather than fully active.

If you need to sell gift cards now

You’ll need alternatives that are actually accepting trades.

I’ve compared the active sites here:

Those are currently taking trades and paying out.

I’ll keep this updated

If Zapper starts accepting trades again — or confirms it’s shutting down — I’ll update this page.

If you’ve used them recently, let me know:

  • Did your trade go through?
  • Did you get paid?
  • How long did it take?

Real user feedback is the only reliable signal at this point.

Quick verdict

Zapper hasn’t officially closed.
But it isn’t operating normally either.

Until trades reopen, assume it’s paused.
