Pureprofile Survey Review: Low Pay, Low Rewards
Survey sites can be a decent way to top up your income when you’ve got spare time. The problem is, many of them massively overpromise and underdeliver. Pureprofile falls firmly into that category.

The pay is simply too low to make this a worthwhile survey site. Sadly, there are no additional ways to earn, which makes it hard to justify returning regularly.

Reviewed by Household Money SavingI usually know within an hour whether a survey site is worth sticking with. With Pureprofile, it didn’t take even that long. The pay is low, the work is thin on the ground, and there’s nothing else on offer to keep you coming back.
What is Pureprofile?
Pureprofile is an online survey company that has been operating for over 15 years. Originally based in Australia, it now also operates in the UK, USA and New Zealand. The company claims to have over 1.8 million users and has given out over 5 million rewards.
How does it work?
Similar to many survey sites, creating an account is pretty simple and takes just a few minutes to do. However, after you’ve entered a few basic details about yourself, Pureprofile throws in a couple of general knowledge questions, such as ‘What are the colours of the Welsh flag?’ It’s not a big issue, but I thought you may appreciate the warning as it seems to be there to check that the people signing up are genuine.
Once your account is up and running, you’ll be taken to your main page, known as your ‘feed’. Here you’ll find the latest news about Pureprofile, available surveys and questionnaires to update your profile. Although answering questions about you and your household won’t earn you any rewards, they’re important to do as they mean you’ll receive more surveys tailored to you.
You can customise your feed so you can only see what’s important to you. For example, you can filter out everything except surveys.
Each survey will tell you how long it takes and how much it pays… and little else.
Pureprofile will send you emails when surveys are available. However, they seem to be a little sporadic (and pointless) and I’ve clicked on a survey invite as soon as it arrived, only to find the survey had ended.
Surveys can be completed from a desktop or mobile site and there’s also an app available to use.
You are paid in cash, although you can sacrifice some of your earnings to enter prize draws.
How much can you earn from Pure Profile?
Surveys aren’t particularly well paid. Average pay tends to be about 50 pence per 10 minutes. That works out a rather low £3 per hour. In fact, that’s pretty poor for any survey site.
One small saving grace is you’ll earn 5 pence when you’re screened out of a survey. But that’s little consolation.
I did receive an email invite offering double rewards for a survey. But even then, there are other survey sites offering more than £6 per hour.
How are you paid?
Once you have £20 in your account (by my calculations, that should take just under 7 hours of surveys), you can withdraw your earnings straight to bank your account. Alternatively, you can convert your cash into gift cards for stores such as Amazon, Costa and Just Eat.
Are the prize draws worth it?
There’s no denying that the top prizes can be quite tempting. The biggest prize is $1,000 AUD (about £520), and some months, there can be three big prizes. Sometimes the prizes are smaller, but there are more of them.
However, there’s no telling what your odds of winning are. Winners can come from Australia, New Zealand, UK or the USA. And considering Pureprofile claims to have 1.8m active members, it seems like the chances of you being chosen are very slim.
Is there a referral scheme?
Pureprofile has quite a generous referral scheme, also known as Bring-a-Buddy. For each friend who joins using your link, you’ll earn £1. You’ll earn a further 50 pence for every survey they complete, up to a total of £9.
What other people say
On Trustpilot, Pureprofile is rated as great by a good number of reviews. So, these reviewers are generally more impressed with the site than I am. However, many users complain about the number of surveys they are screened out from.
My Pureprofile review conclusion
Pureprofile is another example of a survey site that simply doesn’t respect your time.
Surveys will never make you rich — that’s fine. But paying the equivalent of £3 an hour is taking the mickey, especially when there are better alternatives available. Add in the lack of surveys and no extra earning options, and there’s very little reason to stick around.
Unless you’re planning to lean heavily on the referral scheme, I’d skip Pureprofile entirely.
