Crowdology is an online survey panel owned by Savanta Group Limited, a UK-based market research firm headquartered in Edinburgh. The company has been operating since 2005 under various names and runs multiple research platforms.
According to the Crowdology website, members complete surveys for market research projects run by businesses, agencies, media organisations and government bodies, and are rewarded with cash or vouchers.
In theory, that all sounds fine. In practice, it’s where things fall apart.
How Does Crowdology Work?
Once you sign up, you’re invited to surveys by email or via your dashboard. Complete a survey, earn a small cash reward, and once you reach the minimum threshold you can withdraw via PayPal or Amazon vouchers.
Simple enough. Unfortunately, the experience isn’t.
The Good (Such As It Is)
Surveys do arrive fairly regularly. I often received one or two per day, and many are short. Completed surveys usually credit instantly, which is better than sites that make you wait days or weeks.
Most surveys work on mobile, which is handy if you’re filling time on your phone.
That’s genuinely about it. I’ve stretched the positives as far as they’ll go.

The Bad (And There’s a Lot of It)
If you withdraw via PayPal, Crowdology charges a 2% withdrawal fee. That’s hard to justify when almost every other UK survey site pays via PayPal for free.
Amazon vouchers can take up to four weeks to arrive. That’s painfully slow in a space where instant or same-day vouchers are the norm.
Screen-outs are frequent. You’ll often click a survey, answer a few questions, then be redirected elsewhere via a third-party provider like Cint. The replacement surveys are usually longer for the same reward, which destroys any chance of earning decent hourly rates.
There’s no referral scheme at all. Even if you wanted to recommend Crowdology to friends (I wouldn’t), you get nothing back for it.
How Much Can You Earn From Crowdology?
Based on my own usage, the average payout worked out at roughly 90p for a 15-minute survey.
That’s about £3.60 per hour.
In real terms, that’s one of the worst rates I’ve seen from a UK survey site. Almost every alternative I use pays more — often significantly more — for the same time investment.

My Crowdology Review Verdict
I was genuinely disappointed by Crowdology, especially given how often it’s recommended on UK forums. After digging deeper, it became clear why: the site offers a fairly generous affiliate payout. Bloggers earn around £1.50 per signup, which explains the glowing reviews in some corners of the internet.
From a user perspective, though, it’s one of the worst-paying survey sites I’ve tried.
I usually suggest signing up to multiple platforms to maximise opportunities, but Crowdology isn’t worth the time. You can join if you like, but I strongly believe your effort is better spent elsewhere.
Banned From Crowdology (With No Warning)
A quick update: I recently tried logging into my Crowdology account to check a balance after completing a survey weeks earlier. I couldn’t access the account at all.
After emailing support, I was told my account had been closed. No explanation. No warning. No opportunity to appeal.
That pretty much sums up the platform.
There are better, higher-paying, and far less frustrating survey sites out there — and those are the ones I’d recommend instead.

I totally agree with your comments. I recently started doing Crowdology surveys and have reached midway through silver status. I have to say many of them are quite enjoyable and only earning a small amount of money isn’t a problem.
However, my main gripe with a few of the surveys is that you can have completed a large part of them, say 10-15 minutes or so, before they then tell you that you are not suitable for that one. I fully understand the need to survey a particular demographic or for there to be other eliminating factors, but this should normally done in the first few screens. I feel really very cheated when I’ve invested a lot of time and thought, and even research, into a survey before being told that I don’t fit the required profile. Do the companies still use what you’ve already entered and not been paid for?

Do not use crowdology. They are a disgusting firm 5 family accounts blocked for no reason and due rewards not paid. Customer services do not reply to e mails keep well clear
I cashed out twice and now the third time I can’t get my money and they send the same message that doesn’t help me at all. These apps need to be banned
