Are you looking for some quick ways to boost your income? Maybe you’re saving up for Christmas or there’s a big treat you want to get now? Well, take a look at these legit ways to get your hands on some free PayPal money.
Fee PayPal money: boost your balance
Back in 1998, a small firm called Confinty was created, which ultimately failed. But from that company emerged PayPal, which took on a young man called Elon Musk. And the rest, as they say, is history.
PayPal now dominates the digital wallet market across the world and has over 3 million monthly users in the UK alone. In fact, it seems unusual to find an online store that doesn’t accept PayPal as one of its payment options.
But how would you feel if you had money constantly entering your PayPal account? How nice would that feeling be if you didn’t have to debate whether you could stretch to buy yourself something?
You’ll be pleased to know that there are plenty of legitimate ways you can increase your PayPal balance without having to work too hard. Let’s take a look at some of the best methods you can use.
If it’s not only PayPal you’re interested in, why not take a look at my post for other free ways to make money?
Free PayPal money from surveys
Probably the most profitable way to add free money to your PayPal account is through online surveys. Let’s take a look at some of the best sites to join.
Branded Surveys
Our first way to start boosting our PayPal balance is a long-established survey site. Although Branded Surveys is based in the US and pays in $, it’s open to UK residents too. You’re awarded points for every survey you take, which can then be converted into PayPal cash or other payment methods like gift cards.
There are plenty of opportunities to earn and you can make extra points when competing against others. They have a generous referral scheme, and you’ll earn 100 points just for joining by using the button below.
This really is an easy way to kick off your PayPal balance and you could earn £10 before you know it.
Prolific
If you’re looking for the survey site that pays the most for your time, then look no further than Prolific. Mainly used by universities to help in their studies, you can find some Prolific studies that pay well over £10 per hour. Once you reach £5, you can withdraw your earnings straight into PayPal.
Now, Prolific would be my top choice for earnings except for the fact that compared to Branded Surveys, making money can be a little tricky. The site is so popular that you can go weeks without being able to earn anything.
Qmee
This is another survey site that gives you plenty of opportunities to earn extra money. You can either use the desktop site or the Qmee app if you’re out and about. And you’re not just restricted to making money through surveys. You can earn cashback by shopping at certain stores, earn money by signing up for certain deals or even play games for money.
There’s no minimum withdrawal amount, so it’s a great way to get free PayPal money instantly. You’ll even get 50 pence welcome bonus just for joining through the button below.

AttaPoll
This is a handy app that allows you to complete surveys from your phone. There’s usually plenty available and they will take you just a few minutes, so it’s great to use when you don’t have much free time. You only need a balance of £2.50 to cash out and you can either choose a gift card, Revolut or PayPal.
And, you’ll get 40 pence for joining by clicking the button below.
Eureka
This survey app will send you lots of short surveys and allows you to cash out when you reach just £4. And if you don’t fancy PayPal cash, you could opt for a gift card instead.
Look out for bonus periods which allow you to boost your earnings by 25% for 30 minutes.
When you join, use the code X9KPEF to unlock a short survey worth 80 pence.
Curious Cat
The Curious Cat app works in a similar way to AttaPoll. There are lots of short surveys that will reward you points when completed. These points can then be exchanged for extra cash. You only need £1 in your Curious Cat account to withdraw. But unlike AttaPoll, you can only be paid through PayPal.
The app is available from Google Play and the Apple Store.
Appinio
Appinio is an app that rewards you with points for completing short surveys. You can also answer polls set by other Appinio users or create your own polls. Once you reach 10,000 points, you can convert them into Amazon vouchers or receive payment into your PayPal account.
Download the app and use my invite code 1543be.
Swagbucks
This is probably one of the most famous survey sites on the web. Although, strictly speaking, it’s actually a Get Paid To site. That means you can earn money when you complete online tasks like watching videos, searching the internet, signing up for trials, playing mobile games and of course, surveys. You can use the main website or the dedicated Swagbucks app.
You are paid in a currency known as Swagbucks, which can be exchanged for free gift cards or PayPal.

MSR
MSR (also known as the Measure Protocol app) offers short surveys and tasks in return for points. These points can then be exchanged for cash through PayPal or for a voucher.
Another small, but easy way to earn.
Prime Opinion
This survey site rewards you with points in return for your opinions on selected topics. These points can then be swapped for rewards, including gift cards and PayPal. You can also earn extra points if you’re one of the biggest earners at the end of the month.
Vypr
If you find yourself constantly short of time, then the Vypr app could be an ideal solution. You will be sent ‘steers’ which will reward you with points. These points can then be converted to PayPal cash. A steer is just an image with some multiple-choice answers and takes just a few seconds to complete.
This isn’t a big earner, but very easy to do.
OnePulse
Another app that’s ideal for people who find themselves pressed for time. You will be sent two types of ‘Pulses’ – money and XP. Completing a money Pulse will earn you cash and an XP Pulse boosts up your level. As you move up levels, the more you earn from money Pulses.
A Pulse is 2 or 3 questions and will take you just a few seconds to complete. Once you reach $20 (around £14-£15), you can withdraw to your PayPal account.

OnePoll
Another survey site that allows you to earn either from their website or mobile app. On average, each survey pays between 10 and 20 pence. This might not sound like much, but because they’re quick to do, you can soon build up a decent balance.
For new users, you can withdraw your earnings to your bank or PayPal when you reach £40. When you become a more established member, this reduces to £25.
YourSayPays
Another great way to receive money into your PayPal account. Surveys often take under a minute and pay around 10 or 20 pence. Once you reach £20, you can withdraw. Sometimes, you may be invited to take part in telephone interviews, which pay more. But these are purely optional.
Bulbshare
Bulbshare is a market research company that sends you surveys about specific products through its app and asks your thoughts about them.
You join certain Bulbshare groups, depending on your interests, and you’ll be notified when there’s a new questionnaire to answer. Generally, you’ll be paid £1 for each survey you answer and your PayPal reward will usually be paid within a couple of hours.
Make sure you use the invite code UsWTAwv when you join.
CitizenMe
Out of all of the survey sites on this list, this is the best way to earn quick cash and requires little effort. Surveys are usually just a few seconds and will pay, on average, 10 pence. But the moment the survey is complete, that money is paid instantly into your PayPal account.
A couple of downsides though – you won’t see many surveys and there’s limited space for each one. That means that you have to be quick to get your answers in.
Opinion Outpost
Our final survey site on the list. Opinion Outpost rewards you with points for completing surveys, which can be exchanged for gift cards and, of course, PayPal. As an added bonus, every time you attempt to complete a survey, you’re entered into a competition to win a cash prize.
Free PayPal cash when shopping
Survey sites are just one way for you to earn money into your PayPal account. But believe it or not, you can also earn extra from cashback apps.
Shoppix
Shoppix is a receipt-scanning app. Simply make a purchase in a grocery store, take a photo of your receipt and Shoppix will reward you with points. It doesn’t even have to be a physical receipt either as they accept online purchases too. Once you have enough points, you can exchange them for vouchers or cash in your PayPal account.

Streetbees
Moving away from receipts but staying on the shopping theme, another app to consider is Streetbees. This is a mystery shopping/lifestyle app. You’ll sometimes be asked about the kind of food you eat, the products you use around the home or what kind of things your pets like doing. For these various tasks, you’ll be paid cash.
But the better earning opportunities come from their mystery shopping tasks. You’ll be required to go into a shop and purchase a certain item and then share your thoughts on your experience.
The money you earn from Streetbees will then automatically be paid into your PayPal account.
Click on the button below and use my referral code 7850SP to get started.
Roamler
A similar app to Streetbees, although Roamler focuses just on mystery shopping and merchandising tasks. The majority of work needs to be completed when you’re out and about, although a few of the tasks can be done from home.
You will need to have an invite code to join Roamler, but you can use mine – HouseholdMoneySaving
BeMyEye
Another mystery shopping app. Just reserve a mission that takes your fancy, visit the shop in question and complete all the questions. Once your experience is reviewed and confirmed, you’ll receive your payment.
Use the code wvq9p3 when you join to receive a £1 bonus.
Cashback sites
When you’re on your online shopping trips, don’t forget about cashback sites. They’re very easy to use and just require you to click on a link before you shop at your favourite stores. You’ll then earn a small percentage back, which will be paid into your cashback account.
The amount you earn soon adds up over the course of a year and you can even earn from switching your utility providers. Your money can be withdrawn into your bank, through PayPal or as a gift card.
Take a look at some of the best cashback sites.
Other ways to earn free PayPal money
If none of the above appeals to you, then there are still more ways to consider.
Online focus groups
One of my favourite ways to make free PayPal money is through focus groups… probably because it pays the most.
A focus group usually involves around 5 or 6 people discussing a certain topic. They last for 1-2 hours and will reward you in either cash or gift cards. The average pay for completing these tasks is around £40 per hour but can be as much as £100.
There are plenty of focus groups to join, so click the button below to learn more.
IntelliZoom
IntelliZoom is quite a unique site when it comes to earning money. They work for companies that are looking to see how customers use their sites. For example, Marks & Spencer might be interested in how you would go about buying a pair of new socks or Currys needs to know how you would search for a new fridge.
They may track where you click on a website as you use it or ask you to record your thoughts through a webcam. Tests take a maximum of 20 minutes and pay up to $8.
Honeygain
This is what is known as a passive way to make money. You simply download the Honeygain extension to your internet browser, allowing you to share your unused data. The more you share, the more you earn. Once you reach $20 in earnings, you can withdraw.
This isn’t a big earner, but there’s nothing you need to do once you’ve downloaded the extension. And you’ll get $5 to get you started using the button below.
Serpclix
This is a site that pays you to search the internet. Why would a company do that, I hear you ask? Well, it’s to do with something called search engine optimisation (SEO). In short, the idea is if you search for something and visit a page for a long period, Google will think it’s a good page. And rank well on Google and you can make a lot of money.
Simply download the browser extension and for each phrase you search for, you’re paid $0.05 or $0.10.
WeAre8
This app pays you to watch short videos and adverts. And in exchange for your time and for answering a couple of questions, you’ll earn a small cash reward. This takes 30 days to clear and then can be paid straight into your PayPal account.
PayPal refer a friend
Believe it or not, not everyone has a PayPal account. If you’re lucky to know somebody that doesn’t, log into your account and find your referral link. If your friend joins and makes a purchase of £5, you could both earn a £10 bonus. This can then be transferred straight to your bank account. Find out more.
Can you make PayPal money instantly?
No. If someone promises you PayPal money, which you can withdraw instantly, it’s probably a scam. In most cases, you need to put some effort in first before you can withdraw your cash.
Don’t forget the PayPal app
If you’re going to be receiving a constant stream of cash into your PayPal account, then I recommend you download the app. That way, you’ll receive notifications on your phone when the money arrives, you can keep an eye on your PayPal balance and it’s also very quick to withdraw your earnings to your bank account.
Which is the best way to make PayPal money?
The easiest way to make free PayPal money is through survey sites like Branded Surveys. You have endless earning opportunities and can put in as little or as much effort as you like. But, as always, the more sites you belong to, the more you can earn.
