Nectar Arcade And The Better Alternatives to Consider

Browsing my Nectar app recently, I was surprised to see they were now offering me the chance to earn extra points just from playing games. As a bit of a gamer, I thought this sounded too good to be true.

And unfortunately, (just like their survey site Nectar Canvass), I was right. Let’s take a look at what Nectar Arcade is and why you should check out some better alternatives if you want to make money from games.

What is Nectar Arcade?

Nectar Arcade is a rewards platform where you earn Nectar points by playing mobile games and hitting certain milestones.

For example, you might see offers like:

• Reach level 100 → get X points
• Reach level 200 → get more points
• Reach level 300 → get the full reward

Nectar Arcade is actually operated by a company called adjoe GmbH… but I’ll just refer to it as Nectar to save any complications.

Why do they pay you to play?

Mobile games (especially ones like Monopoly Go or Coin Master) are designed to make money through:

• In-app purchases (coins, spins, boosts)
• Ads
• Long-term engagement

And here’s the key stat:

👉 A small percentage of players (often called “whales”) spend a lot of money

So even if:

• 90% of players spend nothing
• 10% spend £20, £50, £100+

The game still profits overall.

That’s why they’re happy to pay:

👉 £50–£200 to acquire a user

So, these games will pay Nectar for finding new users and then Nectar will pass on a small percentage to you.

What kind of rewards can you expect?

At the top end, some games could earn you over £50. But here’s the thing. To get there, it will require a lot of time and effort. And in all honesty, you won’t reach the big rewards unless you spend your own money. If that’s the case, it’s probably not worth doing.

Why Nectar Arcade is a disappointment

As soon as I opened the arcade, I knew I recognised several of the games. I also knew that the points on offer were pretty poor.

So, I decided to take a closer look at two of the most popular games and compared them to two other platforms I use regularly – Swagbucks and Prime Opinion.

Is Nectar Arcade worth it?

Honestly? Not really.

Unless you specifically want Nectar points, there’s very little reason to use it.

You’re putting in the same time and effort as other platforms—but getting paid significantly less.

If you’re going to play these games anyway, you’re far better off using a site like Swagbucks or Prime Opinion.

• High levels often require spending money
• Time-consuming for relatively low rewards
• Nectar points are less flexible than cash

A few gaming tips

When you first download a game, make sure you have at least an hour to try it out without interruption. This will give you the chance to figure out how to play the game and how likely you think you’ll be to reach higher levels.

If you don’t like the game or you think it’ll be too much of a slog, then bin it.

Many of these games are quite similar, so you should get to know what’s good and what isn’t quite quickly.

Have a search on Google for the game and look for hints and tips. Reddit is also a good place to look.

Sometimes, making a small purchase in the game may give you a bonus and a small boost.

Different platforms have different rules. For example, I have seen Swagbucks offering a bonus if a game is completed within 30 days, while Prime Opinion gives 45 days. It’s worth checking all the gaming sites you belong to.

Final verdict

Nectar Arcade isn’t a scam, but it’s not a smart choice either.

You’re doing the same work, playing the same games, and often spending the same money…
