YourSayPays Review: Can You Really Make Money From Surveys?

Amongst my friends and colleagues, I’ve gained a bit of a reputation as the “survey site king”. Not the most glamorous of titles, but it comes in handy when people want to know which sites are actually worth signing up to. One of those sites is YourSayPays, a UK-based survey platform that pays you cash for sharing your opinions.

I first heard about it from a friend who had only been using it for a month but was already impressed. Naturally, I had to give it a go myself to see if it lived up to the hype.

YourSayPays review

Survey site

A site that pays quite well relative to the time it takes to complete a survey. But the lack of surveys means it can take quite a while before you can cash out, which makes it quite frustrating.

What is YourSayPays?

YourSayPays is a UK survey site run by The Leadership Factor Limited, a Huddersfield-based company established in 1996. You earn money by completing short surveys and can cash out once you reach £20. Rewards are paid in either PayPal cash or Amazon gift cards.

Is YourSayPays safe?

Yes, I’ve been a member for years and have never had an issue with payments. The company has been around a long time and is UK-based, which adds some extra reassurance compared to many overseas survey sites.

How does it work?

Signing up is quick and free. You’ll need to provide some basic details (postcode, job status, age group etc.) so the site can match you with surveys. Unlike many competitors, you’ll even get paid a small amount for filling in your profile.

Surveys usually pay around 10p–50p and take 1–2 minutes. Occasionally, you might be invited to take part in telephone studies which pay £2–£3 for 10–15 minutes of your time. I once lucked out with a £10 phone survey about opticians – not a bad return for a quick chat.

Money from completed surveys is added instantly to your account. Once you hit the £20 threshold, you can cash out. Although the site states it may take up to 14 days, I’ve always received payment within three.

My experience with YourSayPays

At first, things looked promising. I earned about £2 in the first couple of days. But then… things slowed down. Some days I’d have 4–5 surveys available, and then nothing for a week. On average, I was only making around 50p per week unless a higher-paying survey came along.

From joining in May, I didn’t make my first withdrawal until August – and that was only because of the £10 phone survey. Over time, I’ve completed 1,202 surveys for £220. On paper, that looks like a lot of effort, but most of the surveys are so short that it doesn’t feel like hard work.

The biggest frustration is that there’s no app. Since most surveys take less than a minute, an app would make it far easier to check and complete them quickly. You can use your mobile browser, but it’s not quite as convenient.

How much can you earn with YourSayPays?

Based on my experience, you can expect to earn the equivalent of £5–£6 per hour if surveys are available. The problem is the availability – you’ll spend time checking for surveys that often aren’t there.

Still, I consider it easy money. Those 10p surveys may only take 20–30 seconds, so the actual pay rate is decent when you get them/

Is there a referral scheme?

I do love the opportunity to refer friends as it’s an easy way to make money. However, YourSayPays doesn’t run any kind of referral bonus.

Final thoughts: Is YourSayPays worth it?

I have a love-hate relationship with YourSayPays. I love that surveys are quick, easy, and pay straight into your account. But I hate how unreliable survey availability is.

If you’re after a site that pays regularly, you’ll do better with Prolific or Branded Surveys. But if you don’t mind checking in now and then for quick surveys, YourSayPays is a handy extra earner, especially if you’re patient enough to wait for that £20 cashout.
