Unfortunately, we all struggle with money at some time or another. But rather than let it get you down, why not grab the bull by the horns and start earning extra? And you don’t have to work all the hours in the day either.

If you take a look through my site, you’ll see there are plenty of survey sites out there (why not check out my post on the best-paid surveys?). Some of them are a little restricted, as you need a computer to make full use of them. The AttaPoll app allows you to make money solely on your phone. But how good is it?

AttaPoll: What it actually is

AttaPoll is a free survey app that pays you for sharing your views with third-party market research companies. It works in most countries and pays out in your local currency.

What makes it appealing is that it works entirely from your phone, ideal if you don’t want the faff of logging into multiple survey sites on a laptop.

Is AttaPoll safe?

Yes, AttaPoll is a legitimate UK-registered company (AttaPoll Ltd, incorporated in 2016). It’s been running long enough to iron out the usual survey-app teething problems. In all the time I’ve used it, I’ve never had an issue with payments or privacy.

As always, only give information you’re comfortable sharing. Market research companies typically request demographic info, but AttaPoll doesn’t ask for anything unusual or unnecessary.

How AttaPoll works

Setting up an account takes just a couple of minutes. The crucial part: you must verify your mobile number. You won’t get paid surveys until you do.

Once inside the app, you’ll see a list of available opportunities. These can be:

• Surveys
• App install offers (some pay instantly, some only after reaching a required level in a game)

Each task shows:

• Pay rate
• Estimated time
• A star rating (shows how likely users were to complete it)

A 1-star offer usually means high screen-out rates. A 5-star offer is normally safe to attempt.

AttaPoll doesn’t create its own surveys; it sends you to external providers such as Cint and Pollfish. This is why screen-outs happen more often than you’d like.

Getting more from the app

Inside Settings, you can:

• Set the maximum number of surveys per day
• Choose the maximum length you’re willing to attempt
• Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss higher-paying surveys (they go fast)

I crank everything up to maximum. You can always reject the rubbish-paying surveys manually.

The downsides

Let’s be blunt:

1. Some surveys are absurdly low-paid

I still see surveys offering 12p for 15 minutes. That’s not worth anyone’s time.

2. High screen-out rate

Even a 3–4 star survey can boot you halfway through. It’s part of how these external survey networks work; frustrating, but normal.

AttaPoll scrapped tiny “thanks for trying” payments back in 2020, and they haven’t returned.

If you’re willing to ignore anything with a bad pay-per-minute rate, the app becomes far more worthwhile.

How much can you actually earn?

Survey pay varies drastically. A four-minute survey might pay 30–40p, while something three times as long might pay less. But if you’re picky, £5–£6 per hour is realistic.

I generally make £20–£30 per month without putting in much effort. It’s hardly life-changing, but that’s a few hundred quid a year for answering questions on your phone.

AttaPoll isn’t perfect, the low-pay surveys need avoiding, and the screen-outs can test your patience. But as a quick-fire way to earn a few quid from your phone, it’s one of the better options out there.

The instant payouts, low withdrawal limit and consistent stream of surveys keep me coming back. Combine it with other apps and it’s possible to make a decent little weekly top-up.
